Prime Video’s The Boys flips the superhero genre on its head by showing us what might happen if the world’s most powerful individuals weren’t noble protectors but deeply flawed celebrities. From Homelander’s godlike abilities to The Deep’s questionable abilities of communicating with sea creatures, every Supe featured in the series has a unique skill set.
But as we have seen across the show’s four seasons, not all superpowers are created equal. Some are game-changing weapons of mass destruction, while others, well, they wouldn’t get you very far in a real fight.
So here, in this ranking, we are breaking down all the major Supes from The Boys and assessing their powers from the best to the most useless. Whether it is strength, combat value, or just how practical these abilities are in everyday life, this list has got it all covered!

1. Homelander – Basically Superman
Antony Starr’s Homelander stands in a league of his own. Basically, the Boys’ version of DC’s Superman has superhuman strength, invulnerability, heat vision, flight, and enhanced senses. No Supe in the series can realistically challenge him head-on.

What makes Homelander terrifying isn’t just his powers, but his instability and pure evil nature. Lacking any empathy and a god complex, he is one of the deadliest figures alive in The Boys universe.
2. Soldier Boy – Basically a Living Nuclear Weapon

Soldier Boy’s return in Season 3 shook up the entire balance of power. While originally known for his enhanced strength, stamina, and combat experience, his new ability to unleash radiation blasts made him even more dangerous.

Basically a parody version of Captain America, he is one of the most powerful Supes alive. Not only can his blasts destroy everything in his path, but they can even permanently depower other Supes. This single ability earns him second place on this list.
3. Queen Maeve – Strategy and Strength Rolled Into One

Queen Maeve is basically The Boys’ equivalent of Wonder Woman. While she cannot match Homelander or Soldier Boy blow for blow, she comes close to them thanks to her strategic thinking. Having super strength, durability, and agility, her discipline and moral compass further set her apart from the other Supes.

Her final stand against Homelander in Season 3 proves she’s powerful and one of the few capable of putting him in real danger. Thus, she earns her place high on this list for both strength and heart.
4. Stormfront – Lightning and Blasts

Undeniably one of the deadliest supes in the show, her electric manipulation sets her apart from others on this list. She can incinerate her enemies within seconds and even fly at incredible speeds thanks to her rare ability.

Combine this with her centuries’ worth of experience, and she ends up being one of the most formidable opponents of all time. However, her powers have limits, and she can be easily overpowered when overwhelmed. Yet, she can remain top-tier if she uses her powers more strategically.
5. Black Noir – A Silent but Deadly Adversary

Although Black Noir’s powers are less flashy, they are nonetheless pretty effective. From his super strength to his regenerative abilities, he is unstoppable when combined with his unmatched combat skills.

Unlike the other Supes, he thrives in stealth and tactical kills. So while he cannot take others like Homelander directly, he is the most practical choice when it comes to combat.
6. Kimiko – Healing with Brute Strength

Kimiko has regenerative healing and brutal physical strength. She’s nearly impossible to kill, capable of surviving even the most violent attacks.

Her power makes her the ultimate wild card in close combat. Though she lacks ranged abilities, her ferocity and healing factor keep her among the most useful fighters.
7. Starlight – The Human Spotlight

At first glance, Starlight’s ability to absorb and redirect electricity might not sound impressive. However, with each passing season, we see how versatile she is, from blinding enemies to unleashing powerful energy blasts.

While she might be as strong as the others on this list, her ranged attacks and resilience are why she earns her spot on this list.
8. A-Train – Speed But At What Cost?

The Boys’ equivalent of Flash, A-Train, is an incredible force, both in combat and outside of it. Having super-fast reflexes and agility, he can easily overpower many Supes. Unfortunately for him, his heart condition severely limits his powers.

If he were in perfect health, we would have ranked him higher. But his condition and health issues drag him down the list.
9. Translucent – The Invisible Liability

Translucent’s carbon skin made him nearly indestructible, and his invisibility gave him surveillance advantages. However, he lacked offensive firepower. In practice, his main skill was spying and avoiding detection, which he can do exceptionally well.

However, when it comes to facing real threats, he doesn’t stand much of a chance, earning him a mid-to-low ranking.
10. Lamplighter – The Pyro with a Past

As a former member of the Seven, Lamplighter has great control over fire. While dangerous in close combat, his reliance on external flames limited his effectiveness. Without a lighter or flame source, he remains practically powerless.

Fire manipulation doesn’t really stack up in a world filled with godlike beings. Thus, while his powers might be strong, they do not really mean anything in the destructive world of the Prime Video series.
11. The Deep – King of Aquariums
The Deep is a pretty interesting character with some super unique abilities. However, he is also one of the most mocked Supes of all time, and for good reason. His ability to communicate with marine life sounds cool until you realize his powers are pretty much useless when it comes to land.

While he’s strong underwater, his powers rarely translate to practical combat. Unless the fight happens in the ocean, The Deep is more liability than asset.
12. Mesmer – Touch and Tell

Mesmer’s psychic ability to read minds via touch is pretty useful for intelligence gathering. But when it comes to the violent world of The Boys, it is pretty useless. Even though he can read minds, in combat, he doesn’t stand a chance against any other Super, limiting his role more to espionage than combat.

Although the world of The Boys is full of several Supes, many of them remain under the radar due to less screen time and a lack of memorable impressions. Thus, this list does not account for characters like Shockwave, Doppelgänger, Ezekiel, or Popclaw.
Now that you have reached the end of this list, who do you think deserves the top spot? Do you agree Homelander reigns supreme, or should Soldier Boy or Queen Maeve be higher?
The Boys seasons 1 to 4 are available to stream on Prime Video.
