Spoiler Alert !!!This article has spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 3, Episode 8.
Jeremiah is definitely jealous of Conrad, and season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty gives us clear proof. The love triangle takes a different turn in Episode 8, titled Last Kiss, when Conrad lays his heart bare on the beach. While Jeremiah’s cheating news played a huge role in this, deep down, we all knew the love he had for Belly.
But when the same confession reaches Jeremiah, he goes all, “I knew about it.” So, the entire time the trio were around each other, Jeremiah figured that Conrad still had feelings for Belly. His jealousy often came out indirectly. This was not because of petty rivalry, but because of his fear of losing her to the version of love she once chose with Conrad. So, on this note, let’s look at the three moments that make Jeremiah’s jealousy hard to miss.
1. Jeremiah’s Ultimatum That Shattered the Wedding
Jeremiah’s ultimatum not only broke his heart but also derailed his wedding to Belly. After his verbal and physical fight with Conrad, he returns home to continue with the wedding. But before all of that could happen, he gave Belly an ultimatum to look him in the eyes and tell him that she does not love Conrad. She couldn’t, and that’s how the entire ceremony collapses.
Even before, he told Conrad that he was dead to him and asked him not to attend the wedding. These lines matter because they move past hurt and into exclusion. The ultimatum frames love as a test that Belly must pass to prove her loyalty. So, when she fails the test, his worst fear becomes a reality, and the jealousy beneath all the anger finally shows itself as heartbreak.
2. The “I show up” Line That Revealed Jeremiah’s Insecurity

Towards the end of Episode 8, we saw Jeremiah saying, “I always come back, Conrad’s the one who leaves.” But in reality, Conrad has always been the one showing up for Belly whenever she needed someone, especially in Season 3. Whether it be about fixing up the house or tending to Susannah’s hydrangeas, he was always present. So, his “show up” statement starts sounding defensive because her history with Conrad refuses to disappear.
The insecurity is pretty simple to read here. He wants Belly to choose dependability on command, yet every reminder of her bond with his brother pulls the ground from under him. Even in Adam Fisher’s matter, throughout the show, Jeremiah has been running for his dad’s approval, who clearly had a softer spot for Conrad.
His jealousy was much evident here as well, trying to outshine Conrad every chance he got. Maybe in Episode 9, we will get to see Jeremiah turning a new leaf with his life apart from the messy love triangle.
3. Jeremiah’s Subtle Ways of Claiming Belly From Conrad
In Season 3, Jeremiah often shows Conrad that Belly belongs with him. He does this in small but clear ways, almost like he wants to remind Conrad where he stands. At one point, he thanks Conrad for taking care of Belly, making it sound like she is now his responsibility.
Later, during his bachelor party, he tells Conrad that he and Belly will soon be family and will look after each other. These moments highlight Jeremiah’s effort to prove his place, while also showing his insecurity.
