Peacemaker season 2 is set to kick off on August 21, 2025, at 9 pm ET on HBO Max, marking the long-awaited return of John Cena’s chaotic antihero. Three years after he last saved the DC Universe from an alien invasion, Peacemaker finds himself trapped in an alternate reality where his life looks flawless.

James Gunn himself confirmed the episode count, adding that every single entry will end with a post-credits gag, so don’t click away once the action ends, via Threads.
The decision to drop episodes weekly is about keeping the conversation alive, making fans debate, speculate, and meme through the entire run.

Peacemaker season 2 keeps the chaos, but it’s less about multiverse fireworks and more about fallout this time. As James Gunn has already said (via Threads)
I wouldn’t want the universe shift to be that big a part of the story.
Well, we should definitely expect a grounded season that nods to the DCU transition without it swallowing the plot. The real engine here is consequence. Season 1 ended with Adebayo blowing the lid off Task Force X and outing Amanda Waller. That public exposure, plus Peacemaker’s framed role, drives the stakes.
So, season 2 will probably bring tighter government heat, bigger moral fallout for our team, and more public scrutiny of ARGUS and the Butterflies. Moreover, Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) shows up again, and his tie-ins to Creature Commandos and other DCU projects mean plot threads will cross over, not to shred the story but to enlarge it.

It’s definitely a more epic storyline. More characters are involved this time, and it’s a massive story in a massive world. I think anyone who likes season 1 is going to love season 2.
