Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has given a nod for the establishment of the Esan Enterprise Park.
The Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office, Kelvin Uwaibi, confirmed this in a statement over the weekend, stating that the 400-hectare industrial layout is designed to enhance the state’s industrial capabilities.
He further revealed that the creation of this new park is part of an ongoing effort to develop industrial parks and business clusters throughout the state.
At present, Edo State is home to two operational industrial parks, with plans in place for further expansion to cater to the growing interest of investors in Edo Central and Edo North.
Uwaibi also mentioned that there are initiatives in progress to set up a mechanic village in Auchi, showcasing the proactive stance of local government authorities in attracting investments.
He emphasized that the state’s dedication to promoting business growth is evident in its meticulous approach to signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
“A notable success story is the MoU signed two years ago with a development partner, which has since led to a €3 million investment in the state’s agricultural sector.” Uwaibi enthused.
Highlighting the potential of the Esan Enterprise Park, Uwaibi said that the project would be driven primarily by private sector initiatives.
He added: “The state is currently inviting investment proposals and seeking profiles of industrious individuals from Edo State’s private sector to serve on the advisory board. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their profiles to invest@edostate.gov.ng.
“This strategic move aims to harness the expertise and resources of Edo’s sons and daughters, as well as friends of the state, to ensure the park’s success.
“The Esan Enterprise Park stands as a testament to Governor Obaseki’s vision and expertise, offering a promising future for industrial development in Edo.”
