The anthology series True Detective Night Country is heading to HBO and Max in January. Creator Nic Pizzolatto will no longer run the series. He hands over the series to Issa Lopez and executive producer Barry Jenkins. Though, Pizzolatto, Woody Harrelson, and Matthew McConaughey retain executive producer credits.
The fourth season of the series has the highest Rotten Tomatoes score ever. Currently, the season is holding a 92% critic score after 71 certified reviews. (Curiously, the season has an 83% fan approval rate, and the series has even aired or streamed yet.) The first season currently sits at 91%, with 99 certified reviews and an audience score of 86%.

True Detective Night Country Release Date
True Detective Night Country Season 4 is set to be released on HBO and Max on Sunday, January 14th, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. The first episode’s title is “Part I,” and the runtime is 57 minutes.
True Detective Night Country can be watched exclusively on HBO and Max with a subscription that costs that start at $9.99 a month.

The official synopsis of True Detective Night Country from the HBO website is as follows:
“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
