GTA is a franchise that almost everyone has come across, intentionally or not, so it’d be quite unexpected for someone to not be familiar with the name. Unfortunately, when GTA: The Trilogy was released in 2021 on major platforms, it wasn’t well received by the fans due to technical errors.
However, that’s not enough to stop Rockstar Games’ massive player base from being excited for the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy to make its way onto mobile, and it has been announced that players will get to play The Definitive Edition on the streaming platform in two weeks.
Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Will Be Available on Mobile Next Month
Netflix subscribers will be able to head to Vice City when the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy launches in December.
The Netflix Staff officially announced the release date for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on the streaming platform’s website earlier today, stating that the iconic action-adventure compilation will be launched next month on December 14. This will prove to be the perfect opportunity for OG GTA fans to revisit signature locations from the past and for newcomers to experience the legendary stories for the very first time.
There is a huge market out there for people who like to casually play video games on their phones or tablets, and the streaming giant is well aware of that fact, leading it to bring the extremely popular GTA Trilogy to a brand new audience.

Regardless of whether one is an Apple or Android user, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be available to download from multiple platforms, with the prerequisite being having a Netflix subscription.
Three of Rockstar Games’ epic GTA titles will be accessible from the iOS App Store, the Android Google Play Store, and, of course, the streaming platform’s mobile application itself. The GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition consists of GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, all three of which are considered to be “genre-defining titles” by many gaming veterans. The upcoming mobile compilation apparently updates and optimizes each game so that it can be enjoyed by the masses in just the way the developers intended.
However, the official GTA Trilogy announcement only contains links for the iOS versions of the games, which would probably leave Android users a bit confused about where they stand in the whole scenario.
The iOS Requirements to Play the GTA Trilogy on Apple Devices

According to the official listings for all three GTA games on the App Store, Rockstar’s upcoming compilation will require iOS 16.0 or later for both the iPhone and iPad. In addition to that, the requirement also includes having a device that has an A12 Bionic chip or later. Moreover, a Netflix subscription is a must to access any of the titles in the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy.

The App Store listings also mention the storage required to install each Grand Theft Auto game, the smallest one being 1.7 GB for GTA III. As the GTA eras change, the installation sizes increase, as Vice City will require 2.8 GB to be installed on Apple devices and San Andreas comes in at 2.9 GB. Rockstar has graciously made all three titles available for pre-order for iOS users, and since they are initially free to claim, it just makes sense to get them as soon as possible.
It is also worth noting that each title in the upcoming GTA Trilogy comes with in-game purchases, which is just classic Rockstar, because why would the studio offer the full package for free? Netflix promises major “enhancements” to the iconic titles, “including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, with high-resolution textures, increased draw distance, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more.”
Unfortunately, Android users would have to wait for Netflix or Rockstar to announce the requirements for their platforms.
