The Nigerian police force dispersed a group of fans who were supposedly sympathisers of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad.
On the cold night of September 22, 2023, after the candlelight procession in memory of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, at Muri Okunola Park. Some of the artist’s fans were reportedly dispersed with tear gas by Nigerian police at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, Nigeria, leaving some of them with various degrees of injury.
This has sparked several discussions among fans and celebrities, who recall that the police have been accused of extrajudicial killings, torture, and arbitrary arrests during protests in recent years.

However, the Nigerian police have issued an official statement regarding the heinous event that occurred on Thursday night.
