Harrison Ford portrayed several characters throughout his decades-long career, but his role in the action-adventure film series Indiana Jones is one of the most iconic characters of the actor. After making his debut as Dr. Henry Jones, aka Indiana Jones, with Steven Spielberg’s 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, he recently reprised his role in the fifth installment of the franchise. But unlike the rest of the films, Dial of Destiny failed at the box office.

While the actor has admitted that he is in show business for money, he doesn’t seem too interested in sharing much about it, as he did during a 1982 interview with David Letterman, while acknowledging that he stole Indiana Jones merchandise.

Harrison Ford’s Confession About Indiana Jones Merchandise
While promoting his 1982 sci-fi film Blade Runner, Harrison Ford joined the late-night talk show host David Letterman to talk about his upcoming film. The actor opened up about how he started acting and how he landed prominent roles in some of the most popular films.

When asked if he is intrigued by seeing the merchandise featuring his characters, the actor said, “Nothing, I don’t take it personally.” He further stated that he does not feel any connection to it as he cannot figure out his relationship with the merchandise.
However, he did admit that he stole the merchandise. “But I steal them,” he said before adding, “And then I tell them it’s me.” While he admitted to stealing the merchandise, the actor refused to discuss things any further, when Letterman asked him if he gets any “dough” for it. “Let’s not talk about money,” he suggested to the talk show host.

Harrison Ford Was Not On-Board With Indiana Jones’ Costume
Harrison Ford’s quick-witty character Indiana Jones is known for his iconic look that includes a leather jacket, and a bullwhip topped with a pinch-front fedora. However, the actor has opened up that he was not on board with his look in the $2.3 billion franchise.

During an interview with GQ, he shared that he had many questions regarding his costume as an adventurer. “Why am I wearing a leather jacket in the jungle? Isn’t it hot here? Why am I carrying a whip?” he recalled all the questions he had at the time. However, he was told that the costume reflected the movie’s past. He also shared that he stapled the hat to his head for the movie while reacting to a clip and said that he still has scars to prove that he actually did it.
