Even the best in-ring technicians in the WWE, like The Undertaker and John Cena, have delivered lackluster encounters in their careers. Hence, it’s not surprising that Jey Uso also has his share of vapid encounters, which fans remember for all the wrong reasons.
Jey has appeared primarily as a member of The Usos’ faction in his WWE career alongside his brother Jimmy. However, he has also been in several high-profile singles matches, including title clashes. While some of them enthralled fans, here’s a look at three high-profile clashes of Jey Uso, which he would want fans to forget.
3. Intercontinental Championship match against Bron Breakker (October 21, 2024)

Despite The Usos being one of the most renowned factions in the current WWE roster, Jey hasn’t been able to establish himself as a major individual star. Without Jimmy’s support, his in-ring showdowns often feel bland, primarily due to the limited number of moves in his arsenal.
Jey’s Intercontinental Championship match against Bron Breakker on the October 21, 2024, episode of RAW bears testimony to how The Yeet Master’s lack of moves makes his showdowns bland. To compensate for the lack of maneuvers in his arsenal, Jey spent a lot of time on the mat, which negatively affected the pace of the match.
While an interference from Solo Sikoa’s MFT added some spice to the match, it went a bit too far as Jacob Fatu’s Superkick to Jey diverted the match’s course completely. Breakker eventually won the contest, but he could have done it with less interference, which would have made his victory and the match look better.
2. Undisputed WWE Championship match with Roman Reigns (SummerSlam 2023)

The SummerSlam 2023 match between Jey and Roman Reigns, billed as “Tribal Combat,” stemmed from The Usos turning against Reigns due to his abusive and vindictive behavior during their time as The Bloodline.
Reigns’ in-ring skills compensated for the lack of moves in Jey’s arsenal, making the match an exciting one. However, as fans wanted to watch the rightful crowning of a Tribal Chief, many were left dissatisfied due to the multiple interferences in the match.
Firstly, Solo Sikoa destroyed Jey’s positive momentum by attacking him. Subsequently, Jimmy, who had been Jey’s bosom friend, turned on him and superkicked him, helping Reigns earn the victory over his brother and tag team partner.
The uncanny ending to this match and Jimmy’s unjustified betrayal left fans with a bad taste in their mouths.
1. WrestleMania XL Match With Jimmy Uso (April 6, 2024)

It wasn’t hard to determine the singles match that Jey would most desperately want WWE fans to forget. It is his WrestleMania XL match with his tag team partner and brother, Jimmy. Despite Jey and Jimmy’s massive following and the match taking place at the WWE’s grandest stage, many fans, including Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, weren’t satisfied with its quality. Jimmy and Jey have a similar limitation regarding the number of moves in their quivers. While other experienced wrestlers could have compensated for this drawback, the lack of maneuvers in Jimmy and Jey’s arsenal made the match look like a Superkick and spear fest.
After watching repeated Superkicks and splashes throughout the match, fans weren’t impressed by Jey’s use of a combination of the same moves to finally win the match. An amalgamation of all these factors makes us rate this one as the most forgettable singles match of Jey’s WWE career.
