Spider-Man Homecoming is still streaming for free on PlutoTV
The 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming was added to PlutoTV in January. That said, it’s unclear how long the film will remain in the streaming service’s library.
At the time of writing, viewers can watch Spider-Man: Homecoming on various paid subscription services, particularly Disney+, Hulu, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime, fuboTV, and Paramount+ that added the movie at the start of January. It can be purchased (generally for $3.99) on other platforms such as Apple TV, Google Play, and Fandango. In addition, this first solo superhero movie for Tom Holland as Spider-Man will drop on Peacock starting February 1.
It’s a bit of a surprise that the film is still available on PlutoTV, given that the ad-supported service is owned by Paramount.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Holland as a young Peter Parker being mentored by Robert Downer Jr.’s Tony Stark and going up against Michael Keaton’s Vulture. The film comes after the character made his debut in the 2016 MCU movie Captain America: Civil War.
With a budget of $175 million, Spider-Man: Homecoming made an impressive $334 million at the domestic box office and an additional $545 million at the international box office.
The success of the film has led to multiple sequels including Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, along with appearances from Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The majority of these movies are available to stream on Disney+.
Spider-Man 4 director Destin Daniel Cretton called Holland’s acting performance in the movie “incredible” and believes that audiences “will feel very connected to the emotions that we’re exploring.”
