The Mandalorian Season 3 Will Premiere In February 2023
As long suspected, there will be no new episodes of The Mandalorian in 2022. However, one of the first announcements out of Star Wars Celebration is that The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere in February 2023. Additionally, the first footage of the new season was played for fans at Celebration. Unfortunately, the rest of us will have to wait to see that.
For the moment, the only teaser for the new season that’s online is the following tweet from the official Star Wars account.

What’s in the new footage? According to fans at the show, Mando and Grogu will have to make a journey to Mandalore. This may be part of Mando’s quest to redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow Mandalorians. Mando is currently an outcast from his people after he admitted to taking off his helmet in front of someone else. But in that moment from the season 2 finale, Mando felt he had to show his face to Grogu.

Additionally, it was confirmed at the panel that Katee Sackhoff will be back as Bo-Katan Kryze. She even showed up in person on stage to make the reveal. Unfortunately for Mando, Bo-Katan may no longer be his ally. It’s all because of the Darksaber, the sacred lightsaber that confers the right to rule Mandalore. Mando took it from Moff Gideon in the season 2 finale, but Bo-Katan couldn’t simply take the Darksaber back. She has to defeat Mando in combat, and that might entail a battle to the death.
