During this special interview, Eren discussed various topics like his understanding of freedom, what motivates him to keep fighting, his concerns about his friends, and more.
However, the most intriguing revelation was his fear of himself, as he chose to declare war on himself to become stronger.

Interview Reveals Eren’s Internal Struggle
In this special interview, which was originally meant for a Japanese audience and not officially provided with subtitles, fan communities like Attack on Fans took it upon themselves to translate and share some important moments. During the interview, Eren discussed his personal battle with himself:
“I’m a little scared, that’s why I feel I have to declare war on myself,” Eren revealed. “If you want something, you have to grab it yourself. And if you stay scared, nothing will change. So I think that every time I fight, I’ll become stronger.”

Eren admitted that he sees his constant fight as a battle with himself. He’s a bit afraid, which is why he believes he needs to challenge himself. He explained saying if you want something, you have to go after it yourself. If you stay scared, things won’t improve. So, he believes that each time he fights, he’ll grow stronger.
During the interview, Levi Ackerman described Eren as a monster, no matter the limitations or confinement he faced. Levi emphasized that no one can give up their conscience. Eren’s close friend, Armin, noted that achieving something important often requires being willing to sacrifice something valuable, and Eren has that remarkable quality without any hesitation.

Eren Describes His Vision of Freedom as Peaceful Living Without Threats
In the same interview, Eren also revealed that he wanted the freedom to mean people living peacefully, without being threatened, so they could go about their daily lives and enjoy simple pleasures like taking a nap under a tree.

To him, freedom means a world where “people can continue with their daily lives without being threatened. All I ever wanted… All I ever wanted was to be able to take a nap under the tree. That’s all.”
Eren said the simple idea wasn’t enough for him. There is a view he “wanted to see. So I wanted to fight for it. I just wanted to fight.”
