The My Hero Academia anime recently concluded after eight seasons of intense battles and captivating stories, leaving many fans still wanting more. Now, some good news has emerged for these fans. A new episode has been confirmed for release next year in celebration of the anime’s 10th anniversary. Notably, the anime began airing on April 3, 2016, two years after the manga started being serialized on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014.
My Hero Academia to release an extra episode after Season 8 finale
My Hero Academia will premiere an extra episode after the Season 8 finale, titled “More,” on May 2, 2026. The episode will stream globally on Crunchyroll, except in Asia. It will adapt the 431st chapter of the MHA manga, a bonus chapter of the manga’s final volume. The episode will take place eight years after Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his classmates graduated from U.A.
The episode’s release is part of a content lineup celebrating the anime’s 10th anniversary. The celebration, titled My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary, will begin on April 3, 2026, exactly ten years after the anime first began its broadcast.
Toho revealed the official 10th anniversary logo during Jump Festa. They also revealed a teaser visual and a new landing page, which will function as a hub for anniversary updates throughout 2026. The visual, produced by Bones Films and illustrated by character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, depicts Deku’s evolution as a hero across ten eras of the anime and manga series.
Besides a new episode, Toho has also announced a My Hero Academia in Concert World Tour. This live music experience will include iconic music from composer Yuki Hayashi. The concert will feature a fully immersive performance that will pair Hayashi’s music with key scenes from My Hero Academia. The tour will commence on May 30, 2026, one month after the anniversary celebrations begin, at Pacifico Yokohama. In addition, this tour is also expected to expand to international locations.
