A MCU Phase 4 movie reportedly has “heavy connections” to Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released later this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
So far, Marvel has released four Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers. The first teaser revealed that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is returning to the MCU, while the second highlighted Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the third a handful of X-Men characters. The fourth and final teaser put the spotlight on Letitia Wright’s Black Panther/Shuri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm/The Thing, and more.
What MCU Phase 4 movie reportedly has heavy connections to Avengers: Doomsday?
According to scooper Cryptic HD QUALITY, one MCU Phase 4 movie that fans might want to revisit before Avengers: Doomsday is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, also known as Doctor Strange 2.
While the post doesn’t go into detail regarding the exact “how” or “why” reasons, a recent tweet from the insider reads, “Oh, and I’m told DS:MOM has heavy connections to Doomsday. Not just the pcs of the film.”
Having said that, scooper MyTimeToShineHello retweeted the news and said, “I mean… not really” in regards to the Doctor Strange movie being heavily connected to Doomsday.
This is all just rumors at this time, as official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps, and there’s no surefire way of knowing just how much, if at all, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will connect to Avengers: Doomsday. At this time, Benedict Cumberbatch’s casting in Doomsday has not been officially announced by Marvel; however, many are expecting him to show up in some capacity, especially because the character has a big role in the Secret Wars comic series that the 2027 movie is at least partially based on.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
