With each new rumor, the hype for Avengers: Doomsday grows within the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom.
Last month, scoopers began sharing details about the opening scene of Doomsday, teasing an epic battle between Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and the Fox X-Men, including Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Apparently, that won’t be the only dream fight in Doomsday. Notable insider MAJESTIC_ucm has just shared who will be trading blows in the final moments of the MCU crossover movie.
Who will be part of the dream MCU fight in Avengers: Doomsday?
According to MAJESTIC_ucm in a new post on X, there will be a fight between Iron Man and Doctor Doom during the final battle in Avengers: Doomsday. It’s worth noting that the Iron Man that appears in Doomsday will be a variant and not the one that made the heroic sacrifice at the end of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Robert Downey Jr. will portray both Iron Man and Doctor Doom in the fifth Avengers movie, which was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Downey’s MCU return came with the condition that the Russo Brothers, who directed the actor in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, also returned as directors.
Plot details remain under wraps for Doomsday, although the movie is confirmed to bring together the Avengers, the New Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men for the first time on the big screen. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.
Downey and the Russos will also return for Avengers: Secret Wars. Filming is expected to begin on the Doomsday sequel later this year. The two-part crossover event will serve as the grand finale of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following one year later on December 17, 2027. Both will be released as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
