The recently concluded Fallout Season 2 included many emotional moments, but one heartbreaking scene particularly stuck with one of the series’s showrunners. In a recent interview, Geneva Roberston-Dworet talked about the scene that truly “moved” her. The second season ran for eight episodes on Prime Video between December 16, 2025, and February 3, 2026.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet describes Fallout Season 2 scene that ‘moved’ her
Fallout showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Frances Turner, who plays Barb Howard in Season 2, recently sat down for an interview to promote the series. In the interview, Robertson-Dworet spoke about the scene in the second season that most resonated with her.
While speaking with CBR, Robertson-Dworet brought up the flashback scene from Episode 8, “The Strip.” The scene features Turner’s Barb and her husband, Walton Goggins’ Cooper Howard.
“I was so moved by Frances and Walton’s choices in their climactic scene at the airport,” Robertson-Dworet shared. “I thought it was just so beautifully done by you guys.” She continued, “You can feel the heartbreak of these two people who’ve done the right thing, and yet the world is punishing them for it and driving them apart.”
In the scene, Barb and Cooper are separated from one another at the airport. This is after Cooper is arrested on the orders of the House Un-American Activities Committee as a suspected communist. Before being taken away, Cooper orders Barb to deny knowledge of his actions. He says he alone will face the charges to protect their daughter, Janey, despite Barb’s pleas to fight them together.
The President of the United States, an Enclave member — whom Cooper gave the cold fusion diode with the belief he would do the right thing — is revealed to be responsible for his arrest. He set Cooper up as he viewed him as a threat to the Enclave’s plans.
Fallout Season 2 is now streaming all of its episodes on Amazon Prime Video. The series was renewed for a third season in May 2025 ahead of Season 2’s premiere.
Robertson-Dworet co-created the series with Graham Wagner. The show is based on Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky’s popular role-playing video game franchise of the same name.
