Chapter 1192 of One Piece finally gives fans the moment they have been waiting for. After Luffy, Loki, and Hajrudin combine their strength against Imu, the hidden ruler of the World Government proves that even their strongest attack is not enough to bring him down.
However, Luffy refuses to give up. With Loki’s help, he finds a completely unexpected way to turn his friend’s enormous hammer and lightning into a new Gear 5 attack. The result is Dawn Thor Bullet, which manages to break through Imu’s mysterious defense and finally injure him.

Chapter 1192 picks up directly after the events of One Piece Chapter 1191. Luffy, Loki, and Hajrudin’s Gokoku Sovereignty send Imu flying across Elbaf, but the attack does not defeat him. Luffy and Loki immediately chase after him, determined to continue the fight.
Imu then reveals another terrifying ability called the Shield of Emptiness. When Luffy tries to punch through it, his attack is completely stopped. The impact is so powerful that Luffy’s own hand begins to bleed. This makes it clear that Imu’s defense is unlike anything Luffy has faced so far.
Gaban once again tells Luffy to escape, but Usopp suddenly appears on Hajrudin’s shoulder and refuses to let the Straw Hats abandon Elbaf. He explains that the Giants have helped them before, so leaving them behind now would go against everything the Straw Hats stand for. Usopp also makes it clear that he does not care whether everyone compares Luffy to Joy Boy, Nika, or even Gol D. Roger sometimes. He is simply his captain, and the Straw Hats won’t tolerate it if anyone tries to take away his freedom.
This gives Luffy the motivation to keep fighting. He then comes up with another crazy Gear 5 idea. Luffy attaches himself to Loki’s massive hammer, allowing Loki to swing him toward Imu while lightning charges the attack.
Luffy turns the momentum into Gomu Gomu no Dawn Thor Bullet. The attack combines Loki’s enormous strength and lightning with Luffy’s awakened Nika abilities. This time, Luffy successfully pierces the Shield of Emptiness and hits Imu directly. The attack is important because it proves that Imu can be damaged. Luffy has finally found a method capable of getting through the defense that stopped his earlier punch.
Imu’s Strange Reaction Raises New Questions About His Powers

The biggest mystery comes immediately after Dawn Thor Bullet lands. Imu’s eyes turn white, and he appears to cough up blood. Even more strangely, his stomach stretches from the impact in a way that looks remarkably similar to the rubber-like effects seen from Luffy’s Gear 5 attacks.
This naturally raises questions about Imu’s powers. Luffy’s awakened Devil Fruit allows him to fight with extreme freedom, including stretching and reshaping his body. Seeing a similar reaction from Imu is therefore difficult to ignore.
However, One Piece Chapter 1192 does not confirm that Imu possesses rubber powers or that his abilities are directly connected to Luffy’s Devil Fruit. It is still only a mystery at this point. Imu’s monstrous transformation and strange supernatural abilities have already created several theories about his true power, but Oda has yet to reveal the full explanation.
What Chapter 1192 does confirm is far more important for the current battle: Imu can be hurt. Dawn Thor Bullet breaks through the Shield of Emptiness and leaves the seemingly untouchable ruler visibly injured.
That does not mean Luffy has already won. Imu remains one of the most dangerous enemies in the Final Saga, and One Piece Chapter 1192 ends without revealing how badly the attack has affected him. But for the first time, Luffy has shown that Imu’s seemingly unstoppable defense can be overcome.
