Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey has received its digital 4K and Blu-Ray release date. The movie is one of 2026’s biggest blockbusters, and it will soon be available to rent or purchase digitally and on physical media.
The Odyssey will be available for home streaming on November 17. The movie will be available on digital platforms and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on the same day.
Nolan’s blockbuster was released in theaters on July 17, 2026. The movie has broken massive records and has become the director’s biggest box-office hit. It will be released digitally exactly four months after its theatrical release, following a similar home-release timeline to Nolan’s Oppenheimer in 2023.
The Odyssey becomes Christopher Nolan’s biggest box-office hit
The film was shot using IMAX film cameras and has earned roughly $1.36 billion worldwide. It is not only Nolan’s biggest blockbuster but also the highest-grossing R-rated movie, surpassing Deadpool & Wolverine.
As per Variety, Nolan’s Greek epic retelling has earned more than $500 million domestically in ticket sales. IMAX contributed $257 million to ticket sales, making this film the company’s highest-grossing release ever. His previous highest-grossing film was The Dark Knight Rises, which earned a massive $1.08 billion during its theatrical run.
Currently, the Greek retelling sits with a 94% Tomatometer score and a 97% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. The critic consensus reads, “Reinvigorating an ancient adventure with majestic sweep and sterling work by its colossal ensemble, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey imbues myth with primal human feeling.”
The movie stars Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, and Charlize Theron. The story follows Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he embarks on a perilous journey to return home after the Trojan War.
Before its digital release, fans can see The Odyssey on the big screen, as the movie is still running in theaters.
