The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 teaser trailer is out. The new footage of the highly anticipated anime shows us an even more brutal return to Night City.

“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?” reads the show’s official synopsis.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is set to release sometime this fall on Netflix. The show will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, with Studio Trigger once again working with Netflix on the new season.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 trailer review

The new teaser trailer for the show throws us right back into the brutal setting of Night City. Much like the first season of Edgerunners, the city is depicted as a nightmarish place filled with chaos at every turn. This time around, though, it seems like we’ll be following a cast of characters who look to be filming the goings-on of the city, and dealing with some of the chaos that takes place there.

The trailer itself didn’t show off a whole lot, instead showcasing a litany of action sequences set to a frantic rock track. The first season of the show dealt with a young man, David Martinez, struggling to find himself in the city. In this season, though, it looks like we’ll be getting characters who are all too familiar with the world of Night City, and lean even further into some of the more violent natures of it.

While it’s unclear what will happen to everyone, if Edgerunners Season 1 has taught us anything, it’s that Night City is rarely a safe place for anyone. And if this trailer is anything to go by, we’ll once again be in for some incredible fight scenes and emotional moments.
