A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 continues to feature one of the strongest female characters on the mega-streaming platform in years. This is a star-making turn by Emma Myers, who transforms the twisty whodunit into one of streaming’s most addictive and noir-infused mystery-thriller series.
If you have reservations about young-adult content, you can throw them out the window. In a genre that is oversaturated on streaming platforms, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder fires on all cylinders. I said last year, and I will say it again: the streaming sensation continues its deliciously gripping suburban noir storytelling.
This is a Netflix streamer who transcends romantic teen angst. One that delivers a crackling, propulsive, and suspenseful mystery.

The second season continues to follow Pippa Fitz-Amobi, known to her friends as “Pip” (Myers, continuing to impress in the role here), who made a very popular true crime podcast based on the killing of a local schoolgirl, Andie Bell (Bridgerton’s India Lillie Davies), last year. Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni) was accused of the murder before taking his own life.
Eventually, with the help of Sal’s brother, Ravi (Zain Iqbal, wonderful here), Pip solved the case, proving that Andie’s little sister, Becca (Carla Woodcock), was the killer, and Mr. Ward (Mathew Baynton) murdered Sal to cover up the inappropriate relationship. Meanwhile, Max is also put on trial for raping women around town, including Becca, now in prison.
That brings us to the current season. Max (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Henry Ashton, as slimy as ever) is facing life in prison, but now Andie is refusing to testify against him. Instead of leaving the amateur sleuth life behind, Pip has to put on her closed-back, over-ear studio headphones once again, despite her parents’ objections.
Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 Review

This is where the show’s second season gets twisted and grips the audience. The decision affects her relationship with Ravi and her best friend, Cara (My Fault: London’s Asha Banks). However, what really draws Pip in is Connor’s (Jude Morgan-Collie) brother, Jamie (Eden Hambelton Davies), who has gone missing.
The second season is based on the second book in Holly Jackson’s popular series, Good Girl, Bad Blood. Created by Jackson and Poppy Cogan, the season is particularly brilliant in how it ties all three cases together. One, being the original murderer, still casts a shadow over the characters. The others are Max’s trial and Jamie’s disappearance.
Of course, all this runs through Emma Myers, pitch-perfect in the role. So good as Enid Sinclair in Wednesday, the talented young star’s performance is thrilling, uncovering subtle clues and staying one step ahead of the audience, brimming with charm, relatability, vulnerability, and intelligence. However, the second season is darker and deeply felt.
Is Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 worth watching?

That means Myers deals with themes of guilt-ridden trauma and painful consequences that come with hidden truths. The writing is sharp, the characters are compelling, and the mystery is tantalizing as each episode unfolds. In fact, the season, like the first, is so well written that there are very few, if any, red herrings.
Which is almost a miracle in today’s streaming world. The final two episodes unravel a labyrinthine plot that builds genuine suspense, keeping viewers guessing until the very end. This makes A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 a rare streaming series worth watching, one where the second season surpasses the original.
You can stream A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 2 exclusively on Netflix starting May 27th!
