Daredevil: Born Again didn’t just close a chapter but also started a new one in New York’s street-level landscape. The season was filled with political manipulation and escalating violence, with Matt Murdock paying the ultimate personal price. Though he survived Wilson Fisk’s war on vigilantes, his victory came at a cost that feels like defeat: his identity was exposed, his moral standing questioned, and he was removed from the streets he fought so hard to protect!
The finale was like a courtroom drama that reinforced the idea that justice must prevail, but they ended up imprisoning one of its most committed defenders. Yes, Fisk’s regime collapsed, but the damage has already been done, and now there’s a vacuum. So, let’s see how Spider-Man: Brand New Day might come into play here with Daredevil behind bars, and the city left vulnerable!

Daredevil: Born Again Sets the Stage For Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again rewrites the power dynamics in New York City and creates the perfect runway for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The most immediate shift will happen due to the fall of Wilson Fisk.
His AVTF (Anti-Vigilante Task Force), which once operated under the guise of protection, turned brutal, and the public was forced to confront their blind trust. By the finale, Fisk is removed from office, and Sheila Rivera becomes the new mayor, who also appears briefly in the Brand New Day trailer.
She seems to be open to the idea of working alongside vigilantes instead of treating them as a threat, so there’s a possibility that New York might actually welcome someone like Spider-Man instead of being scared.
Could Brand New Day Feature a Spider-Man x Daredevil Team-Up?

There will be multiple villains in the next movie, and with the city being in such a volatile phase, the responsibility would fall on Spider-Man. This would be the right time to reclaim his place and take a more central and mature role in the MCU.
But the most anticipated possibility in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a team-up between the web-slinger and the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. On paper, the setup seems perfect with both heroes operating in New York, but Born Again throws a major obstacle into the mix because Matt Murdock is in prison.
Undoing his imprisonment quickly would undercut the emotional weight of the finale. But they could still feature him through a brief interaction, a prison visit, or even a legal consultation when Peter finds himself in trouble.
There’s also the presence of the Punisher, who operates without restraint, and his interaction with Spider-Man could highlight the kind of hero Peter doesn’t want to become. But still, Punisher might temporarily mentor Spider-Man, and when Daredevil finally returns in his suit, it won’t just be for a cameo, but for something bigger!
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will release on July 31, 2026, and Daredevil: Born Again is currently streaming on Disney+ (USA).
