A page count of 186 would make the film’s script notably lengthy by Hollywood standards. Generally, the industry rule of thumb estimates roughly one minute of screen time per page. Based on that, Avengers: Doomsday would clock in at approximately three hours of runtime before editing.
Meanwhile, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing the film from a script by Stephen McFeely. Additionally, Kevin Feige later revealed that Michael Waldron would also be contributing to the screenplay. McFeely previously penned Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame for the same directing duo.
Furthermore, the film features Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom alongside a massive ensemble cast. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Anthony Mackie all return in their established roles. On top of that, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Channing Tatum bring the X-Men into the fold.
Similarly, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach round out the Fantastic Four team. Ryan Reynolds also reprises his role as Wade Wilson. Marvel Studios confirmed the film wrapped production in September 2025.
In addition, Alan Silvestri is composing the score, reuniting with the Russos after their previous Avengers collaborations. Newton Thomas Sigel serves as the cinematographer on the project. Notably, Walt Disney Studios pushed the release date from May 2026 to December 18, 2026.
A sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is currently scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.
