After the blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Universal Pictures and Nintendo are back with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Sequel to the 2023 film and based on the 2007 game and its sequel, it is expanding Mario’s cinematic universe but on a scale not seen before.

Released by Back Lot Music, the official soundtrack for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has been composed by Brian Tyler. He is best known for his work in films like Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World, and more. He also scored the first film in 2023 (via Film Music Reporter).
The film also used themes from the games, which were rerecorded for the film’s soundtrack using a 70-piece orchestra (via IGN). While Tyler’s involvement hints at a cinematic feel, the DNA comes from Koji Kondo, whose iconic Mario themes are expected to be reinterpreted.
