Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received a brand new rumor regarding the potential ending of the next Tom Holland-led superhero movie. It is currently slated to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.
“Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves,” reads the official synopsis. “Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
What’s the new update for Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
The latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumor comes from SM Vision on X, who claimed that the upcoming movie would “end badly.” This is seemingly in line with a recent report about the film potentially adapting the iconic Kraven comic storyline, which featured Spider-Man’s death. The new update also teased that fans should expect a “big cliffhanger” at the end of the film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the screenplay. The movie will also feature the return of Emmy winner Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Joining them are Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) as Cathy, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III (Black Lightning) as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and Tramell Tillman (Severance). It is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad, with Louis D’Esposito and David Cain serving as executive producers.
Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo will also be reprising his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Brand New Day. Previous rumors about Hulk’s potential role in Spider-Man 4 also suggested that the hero might transform into the Savage Hulk, known as the fan-favorite character’s aggressive and deadly alter-ego from the comics. Meanwhile, Sink’s mysterious character continues to be the subject of many fan discussions, with many theorizing that she might be playing Jean Grey.
