Spider-Man’s life is about to be turned upside-down thanks to a juicy secret.
Peter Parker has never lived an easy life. Whether it’s because of monumental losses like Uncle Ben or Gwen Stacy, trying to balance being a superhero on top of his day-to-day responsibilities, or seeing a new supervillain being created whenever he turns a corner, Spider-Man generally has his work cut out for him more often than not.
Now, however, things seem like they might get even worse for Peter, as his relationship with Aunt May seems to be in jeopardy.
What do we know about the Spider-Man Aunt May secret?
Marvel Comics has announced that Amazing Spider-Man #31, which will be available to purchase this June, will see Aunt May confess a secret that is bound to forever change Peter Parker’s life.
A description of the issue reads, “Just in time for Amazing Spider-Man #1000, Peter Parker’s world is turned upside down with one of the biggest reveals in Spider-Man history. Don’t miss this pivotal story that leads directly into Amazing Spider-Man #1000 and beyond!”
Marvel‘s Amazing Spider-Man #31 is written by Joe Kelly, while Patrick Gleason provides the art and cover art. There’s no hint, yet, what big secret Aunt May might be spilling; however, the Amazing Spider-Man #31 cover does notably have Uncle Ben on it, which suggests that he might have something to do with the matter.
Kelly said about the issue, “There is so much to say about this issue… it’s heartbreaking, for one. Some of the most honest and emotional stuff we’ve done. Pat Gleason delivers a powerhouse performance and captures everything I’d hoped for. It’s also one of those times where you can honestly say ‘this changes everything.’ A family secret comes to light that rocks Peter and May to foundation of their relationship. It’s huge and has ramifications well past issue #1000. I try not to oversell these sort of moments… but this is the big one.”
Amazing Spider-Man #31 arrives on June 17, 2026.
