Henry Cavill’s Highlander reboot is one of the most anticipated films of all time from the actor. With months of waiting and Cavill’s injury, the first look at Henry Cavill in Highlander has finally been revealed.
Fans immediately had the best reaction as they took to the social media platform X to talk about how Cavill is one of the few actors who respect the lore of the source material.
This is a slam dunk. This dude respects the lore of franchises like this.— Jolly Roger (@JollyRogX) January 28, 2026

Henry needs to be on the Mount Rushmore of actors bringing life back to old school films we all loved. Dude is a gem.— Ryan (@1nfamouzKing) January 28, 2026
Chad Stahelski directing Henry Cavill with a sword? We are about to witness violence that is indistinguishable from fine art.— Upendra Yadav (@Upendra_0326) January 28, 2026
Well, Henry Cavill is a powerhouse in himself (with projects like The Witcher, Highlander, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. to his name). However, Henry Cavill joining Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick movies, seems to be a next-level collaboration in Hollywood.

Back when The Witcher was announced, fans weren’t too keen on seeing Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia on the Netflix series. However, when episode 1 premiered, Cavill surprised fans with his sword work and the cinematography of the Butcher of Blaviken fight in The Witcher.
During a CinemaCon conversation in 2024, Henry Cavill revealed (via The Hollywood Reporter) that he had been training extensively for some sword work for The Highlander reboot.
If you think you’ve seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet.
As if it wasn’t exciting enough, Chad Stahelski will be helming the project as its director. Being the director of the John Wick movies, Stahelski famously promoted and beautifully shot Keanu Reeves doing Gun-fu throughout the four movies.
Naturally, it would mean that Henry Cavill’s sword work will be seen with some incredible cinematography with Stahelski sitting in the director’s chair.
Highlander follows Henry Cavill, an immortal warrior who fights other immortal warriors in order to obtain mortality and eventually die. With Chad Stahelski as the director, it seems that we will potentially see John Wick with swords when it comes to Henry Cavill in Highlander.
