It was already revealed by Microsoft that they’d be displaying Forza Horizon 6 at the upcoming Developer Direct on January 22, 2026. While many were anticipating the release date then, Playground Games might have leaked the date early themselves.

A pop-up message reportedly appeared while user @XBOXF10 was playing Forza Horizon 5, hinting at early access for Forza Horizon 6 on May 15, 2026.
The message also mentioned a four-day early access window, which would place the full release around May 19, 2026, if the information turns out to be accurate.

If the accidental pop-up message is accurate, then the Forza Horizon 6 release could be just a few months away. Moreover, it also showcases which car (Ferrari J50) would arrive as a pre-order bonus.
The leak also suggests that Forza Horizon 6 will feature over 550 real-world cars in the big open-world of reimagined Japan. This can be true because the series is well known for featuring that many cars.
Pre-order bonus could also include VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, and Time Attack Car Pack. In addition to that, the Italian Passion Car Pack and two Premium Expansions are also said to arrive as post-launch content.
While the screenshot looks legit enough, it’s still best to take it all with a grain of salt. If true, then all speedsters are invited for May 19, 2026.

Forza Horizon 6 is rumored to be one of the biggest games in terms of map size and content. With the series’s success over the years, the expectations are higher this time around with the Japanese setting.
The Japanese car culture is particularly known for outrageous modifications, which have been lacking in Forza Horizon games previously. This would be the perfect time to showcase additional modifications, because the Need for Speed franchise has been dominating in that regard.
Furthermore, the lack of traffic in Forza Horizon games make road seem bland, and many look forward to that being fixed. This could potentially add a bit of extra challenge to races, because it always feels like track racing.
With so many expected improvements, Forza Horizon 6 has a lot riding on it. Hope Playground Games can keep up.
