The Euphoria Season 3 trailer wastes no time signaling danger for Rue Bennett. It opens with Rue (Zendaya) running, breathless and desperate, before cutting to scenes of her pedaling drugs. In voiceover, Rue reflects, “A few years after high school, I don’t know if life was exactly what I wished.”

Sitting in a church, she adds, “But somehow, for the first time, I was beginning to have faith.” That fragile hope is quickly shattered when drug lord Laurie (Martha Kelly) reappears, calling in the massive debt Rue left unpaid.
As Rue scrambles to survive, the trailer hints she’s caught between two seemingly warring dealers, Laurie and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s mysterious new character.
Season 2 ended with Rue hitting rock bottom as her addiction led to repeated relapses, near-fatal overdoses, and a massive debt to drug dealer Laurie. With the help of her sponsor, Ali, Rue finally chose sobriety in the finale, accepting how hard recovery would be. However, her problems weren’t fully resolved.
Series creator Sam Levinson has since revealed that Rue eventually ends up in Mexico, still owing Laurie money and “trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,” as per The Hollywood Reporter.
