James Gunn has fans getting hyped for Man of Tomorrow for a long time now, with the most recent canon event being the finale of Peacemaker Season 2. More recently, Gunn has taken to Instagram to post a Christmas greeting card of Mr. Handsome from his Superman flick.

The post is a direct message to the Man of Tomorrow team, giving us more clues about the character reprising his role, played by creature performer Trevor Newlin.
Mr. Handsome’s Story Confirmed For Man of Tomorrow
Mr. Handsome, the faithful companion to Lex Luthor, will likely be seen in 2027’s Man of Tomorrow after his ending was left unexplained in 2025’s Superman. In the same Instagram post, a fan asked Gunn what became of Mr. Handsome, to which he replied:

The thing is, we might not get to see him physically on-screen as Gunn has not confirmed if Trevor Newlin will reprise the character. However, we can be optimistic, right? Gunn himself has confirmed that Lex has a lot of sentiment for Mr. Handsome in a post on X:
Lex created Mr. Handsome in a Petri dish when he was 12—he was trying to make a human. He didn’t come out so well, but he just might be the only one in the world Lex has any true sentiment for, as evidenced by the photo on his desk.
Trevor Newlin is known for roles like the Xenomorph in Alien: Romulus and wore a practical suit for Mr. Handsome. Gunn has also revealed an interesting tidbit about the character.

Man of Tomorrow will see the unlikely team-up of Superman and Lex Luthor against the android Brainiac, who was recently cast by James Gunn. The use of Mr. Handsome in the film is yet to be seen, but given that the movie is equal parts a Lex story, chances are Mr. Handsome will play a crucial role.
