The director and returning cast for Jurassic World 5 have been announced.
Jurassic World Rebirth was released in United States theaters this past July. Rebirth is the fourth Jurassic World movie and the seventh installment in the Jurassic Park film franchise, which began in 1993 with the Steven Spielberg-directed flick.
With Rebirth having proved to be a huge hit at the box office, raking in approximately $868.5 million globally, Universal Pictures and Spielberg’s Amblin Partners now seem to be putting the pieces together for Jurassic World 5/Jurassic World Rebirth 2.
Who is directing and starring in Jurassic World 5?
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Rebirth director Gareth Edwards is now in final negotiations to helm Jurassic World 5. Before joining the franchise, Edwards made 2010’s Monsters, 2014’s Godzilla, 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and 2023’s The Creator.
Sneider also reports that Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali are all expected to reprise their respective roles as Zora Bennett, Duncan Kincaid, and Dr. Henry Loomis.
No writer for Jurassic World 5 has been announced as of yet, and plot details remain under wraps. The movie has yet to receive an official release date, though insider EmpireCity Box Office recently stated that Universal is fast-tracking the movie for either 2027 or 2028.
In the meantime, Jurassic World Rebirth is currently available to stream on Peacock.
