Helldivers 2 is entering its next chapter with the Into the Unjust update on September 2, and alongside new enemies and the Terminids’ Hive World, players will be introduced to something special: brand-new music for the Gloom.
Composer Wilbert Roget, II, announced that he is bringing fresh new soundtracks, marking his return to the Helldivers 2 music front. As Xbox divers join the ranks and democracy spreads further across the galaxy, this new music promises to rally troops and amplify the thrill of battle.
Wilbert Roget, II Returns to Helldivers 2 with Into the Unjust
Set to release on September 2, the Into the Unjust update will showcase the haunting reality of the galactic war. It will showcase a world called Hive World, where Terminds ran rampant without interference, managing to terraform the world into something unrecognizable.
To show the growth, it seems like the music is evolving, too. Roget has once again arrived with a new score for the Gloom gameplay, and if his past work is any indication, the new score will certainly add that intensity and an edge of unease in the minds of the players.
Been looking forward to this all year! Wrote some new #gamemusic for the Gloom gameplay, finally returning to the #Helldivers2 music front. Please enjoy, and a warm welcome to our new #Xbox divers!! https://t.co/RA8gdAq0ig— Will Roget (@WilbertRoget) August 28, 2025
It’ll be exciting to hear how he stretches the tension with this music. With a dark cave system as the setting, he couldn’t have asked for a more atmospheric canvas. Will we hear eerie strings, creepy silence, or a bit of both?
This time, his music will remind divers that they are invaders in hostile territory. By pairing atmosphere with gameplay, Helldivers 2’s score transforms exploration into a suspense movie and combat into a symphony, ensuring the Hive Worlds sound as dangerous as they look.

Whether you have been playing for over a year or just joined with the Xbox launch, there is one thing that connects every player to Helldivers 2: its music. It makes the experience more immersive, more intense, and emotionally charged.
Most of you won’t notice (while talking to friends on Discord or dropping hellbombs), but the game’s soundtrack is more than background noise; your secret battlefield companion makes every part of the battle (yes, even the long walks) more engaging.
Roget’s score (like the game’s main theme, A Cup of Liber-tea) thrives on contrasts: moments of silence, almost introspective silence broken by sudden, intense music like horns and pounding rhythms that signal all-out war.
This dynamic soundscape captures the vulnerability of a lone diver and the adrenaline of squads fighting side by side. It ensures that every mission feels alive and filled with silence, fear, and triumph. This rhythm binds players together as they spread democracy across the stars.
