I was earning N30,000 monthly salary as a school principal and teacher while dating my wife – Nigerian man says

A Nigerian man, Belano, has revealed that he was earning N30,000 monthly salary as a school principal and teacher while dating his American wife.

The father of one who has since joined his wife in the US, disclosed this via his X handle on Thursday.

“When she came to visit the school I was teaching. I was a principal of this private school teaching Maths, Physics and further Maths. My salary was 30,000,” he wrote. 

Giving details on how he financed his wedding on meagre salary, Belona said he used his savings while some friends also contributed to the ceremony, in cash and kind. 

“Beautiful wedding didn’t cost us 500k bro. I wanted to sell my phone to buy ring then, one of my friends here on x told me not to, he gave 50k I used that 50k to buy suit and ring for her! The ring peel after 3 weeks . She still has it now sha even though I have bought better ones. Decoration was done by friend and the hall was free. We invited just few people even though some family members still brought people we didn’t invite. Food was organized by family and some savings I have done. I didn’t spend 300k for the wedding!,” he added.
