Chioma Adeleke, wife of Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about the singer’s unwavering support for her personal ambitions.
While acknowledging that she has faced numerous challenges over time, Chioma, popularly known as Chef Chi, described her husband as caring, intentional, and deeply invested in her growth beyond their family life.
“David cares a lot about my dreams. I’ve faced a lot of challenges over time, but he would always ask me, ‘Chi, apart from all of this, what do you actually want to do?’ Then we would have plans and have stuff coming out in the next few months. He really cares about my personal dreams,” she said in an interview with Noire TV.
Naija News reports that Davido and Chioma, who met during their university days, have weathered public scrutiny, personal tragedy and career pressures.
Their first child, Ifeanyi, died in 2022, a loss that shook the couple but did not break their bond.
They share three children, including twins born in October 2023, and have continued to nurture both their family and individual goals.
The couple had their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024, following a private court ceremony in March 2023.
Their white wedding is scheduled to be held in Miami, United States, with Davido revealing that over $3.7 million has already been spent on preparations for what he promises will be a lavish celebration.
For Chioma, however, the singer’s most valuable gift is not just luxury but his genuine commitment to helping her achieve her dreams.
