A Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Toyin Ndidi Taiwo-Ojo, has rescued a 23-year-old woman allegedly brutalized by her boyfriend.

Toyin, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, said the victim’s boyfriend and father of her child allegedly constantly battered her even three weeks after she gave birth. 

“The rescue I went on today was successful. Just rescued a 23 year old young lady who was being beaten blue and black by her boyfriend who she has a child for,” the lawyer wrote.

Abandoned by the father, the mother has been bought over by the little stipends she was getting from the yeye man and will always tell her to go back anytime she runs home to her because of the violence.

According to the survivor, he will beat her to the extent that she would be bleeding and when he calms down he will begin to beg for her forgiveness, he has beaten her uncountable times and even beat her when she was just three weeks postpartum.

Denied her access to phone, buys her phones ,then breaks it as punishment when she offends, locks her inside all day and when he comes back, he will beat her for infidelity even when he knows she was with his mum all day long in their house .

Today, I confirmed once again that a man may have good family background but turn out terrible.

The mother-in-law was so factual with her details and exonerated her of triggering the son. 

She said her son is obsessed and would keep on accusing the poor lady of infidelity, meanwhile he locks her up, she said she was tired of her son maltreating another person’s child and that we should please help her to save her life.

This night she is able to sleep without fear of being strangulated because she is now in a safe environment.
