But while he lost his first love with his split from his wife, it seems the actor found a second chance at love pretty soon too.

For one, he has been spotted every now and then with a woman on his social media since his divorce from his wife. However, it seems like things aren’t quite working out for the Ugly Betty star because recent reports spell legal troubles for him. Per the latest reports, the actor was arrested for an alleged violent act with a woman.

Though Eric Mabius has done quite a few brilliant pieces to justify his excellence in the entertainment field, he is best known to date for Ugly Betty, the hit drama from 2006. That was also when he tied the knot with his high school sweetheart Ivy Sherman, the very woman he went ahead to have two sons with – Maxfield Elliot and Rylan Jaxon.

But, as it turns out, the two’s marriage couldn’t last long, and the Signed, Sealed, Delivered actor had to part ways with the woman he ostensibly thought to be the love of his life. According to Soap Central, after more than a decade of being married to Sherman, who is an interior designer by profession, Mabius’ divorce was finalized in 2018.

However, losing love once didn’t mean losing love forever for the 53-year-old star. Rather, as has been especially evident from his social media handle, Mabius got a second chance at love with a different woman. As fans have observed from his Instagram handle, the actor has been up and about with his mystery girlfriend, whose name is yet to be officially released.

This mysterious woman has been making her way onto Mabius’ Instagram feed for quite some time now, and it didn’t take long for fans to do the math. But while that’s that, what’s surprising is that even after seemingly earning his second chance at love, the actor was reportedly recently arrested for battery as well as resisting arrest without violence with a woman.

According to the latest updates from TMZ, Eric Mabius has been arrested for alleged battery and resisting arrest without violence at a bar in Yulee, Florida, at around 2 am PT on February 20. This arrest was reportedly the result of Nassau County sheriff’s department being informed of a fight at the said respective bar.

Per the source, at the bar, an “extremely intoxicated” woman was being rather “obnoxious,” and she had to be removed from the bar when she “spat on several people.” If that wasn’t enough, Mabius allegedly got involved in the violence as well, which eventually led to his arrest, and currently has a mugshot of his making rounds on the internet.

As the source claimed about him, the Ugly Betty actor was reported to have “pushed her and another woman to the ground” before he reportedly proceeded to take things just a notch further: Eric Mabius allegedly “got on top of this second woman and pulled her hair, allegedly ripping a handful from her scalp.”

The report further alluded, “When deputies arrived, Eric allegedly became belligerent and refused commands to sit, even walking up behind one deputy … prompting his arrest. Mabius and the drunk woman were both arrested for battery and resisting without violence.” This led to him being booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center just before 6 in the morning.
