Chris Evans thought that superhero suit was bad? Oh, if only he knew what was coming. Years before he suited up as Marvel’s golden boy, Evans was already complaining about the tedious process of squeezing into a superhero costume. Back then, he had no idea he’d soon be trading one uncomfortable getup for another — only this time, with a whole lot more pressure.

Little did he know, the spandex struggles of his past were just a warm-up for the legacy-defining role that would make him a household name.
Chris Evans thought one superhero suit was bad – then came Captain America

Before Chris Evans became Marvel’s star-spangled hero, he had already griped about squeezing into a superhero costume. Turns out, his Fantastic Four muscle suit was just the beginning.
In an old interview, Evans detailed the tedious process:
It’s a process. First, you gotta cover yourself in baby powder, slip into this muscle suit, and then, once the muscle suit’s on… I mean, it takes two or three people to get this damn thing on. So, it’s probably like a 45-minute to an hour-long process.
Sounds bad, right? Well, soon after, Marvel locked him into a decade-long run of even tighter suits as Captain America.
His time as Steve Rogers wasn’t exactly comfy. In Captain America: The First Avenger, he had to wear a padded body suit before switching to the now-iconic tactical uniform. And let’s not forget all the harnesses, shields, and helmets that came with it. Evans was practically stitched into superhero life.
But even back in his Fantastic Four days, he had a sense of what was at stake, as he said,
You always have that in mind—the fact that this is some people’s, um… they don’t wanna screw it up and have them hate you forever.
That pressure only intensified when he took on Cap — a role that cemented him as an A-lister.

Evans once admitted there’s no real way to prepare for stardom. “You just gotta take it one day at a time.” Fitting, considering he spent nearly ten years literally fitting into one of the most famous superhero suits in Hollywood history.
Chris Evans accidentally spoiled Anthony Mackie’s Captain America moment before Marvel did

Anthony Mackie didn’t hear it from Kevin Feige. Or the Russo Brothers. Chris Evans accidentally spilled the news.
While filming Avengers: Endgame, Mackie hadn’t seen the scene where an elderly Steve Rogers hands Sam Wilson the shield. At a gathering at Evans’ house, Mackie was the first to arrive. Evans, thinking he already knew, casually said, “Man, isn’t that scene so beautiful? I love it so much and I’m so happy for you.”

Mackie had no clue. Evans panicked, ran upstairs, grabbed the Endgame script, and let him read it. Watching his friend’s reaction in real-time? “He was just so happy.”
That quiet moment made the on-screen handoff even more powerful — two friends, two heroes, passing the torch.
