The February 2025 issue of Kadokawa’s magazine, Monthly Shonen Ace, revealed exciting news for Bungo Stray Dogs‘ fans. Shiwasu Hoshikawa will debut a new manga named Bungo Stray Dogs STORM BRINGER starting January 24, which is the magazine’s next issue. The new manga will adapt volume 8 of the series’ light novel.

The upcoming manga will focus on Chuuya’s past and the tragedies he has faced. Chuuya is definitely an intriguing character, and his petty fights with Dazai are enjoyed by fans all over the world. Their cat-and-mouse chase adds an interesting depth to the series. But Chuuya isn’t just a ball of angst and pettiness, he also has a deep backstory, which has been illustrated in the light novel.

STORM BRINGER will show the incidents that took place in Chuuya’s life a year after he joined Port Mafia. The story is set after the infamous Arahabaki incident. Chuuya is only 16 and has already made a name in the organization. He is slowly gearing up to achieve an executive position.

The manga will also introduce a humanoid detective from Europole named Adam Frankenstein. Fans will have their first encounter with him as he rises from the wreckage of an airplane crash and asks around for Chuuya Nakahara. He will serve as a helping hand for Chuuya, who is set to go on an important mission.
