President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged his participation in various protests throughout his career, emphasizing that these demonstrations were always conducted without violence. The President made these remarks while receiving the Letter of Credence from the newly appointed United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Richard Mills Jr., at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Highlighting the significance of democracy and its institutions, President Tinubu noted that protests are an essential component of a democratic society. However, he stressed that no government will tolerate demonstrations that result in the destruction of lives and property. “Our relationship with America is rich. We believe in democracy and freedom.
