Outer Wilds was a game released to critical acclaim and also received multiple Game of the Year awards. An action-adventure game developed by Mobius Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive, it was released in May 2019.

Now there is some news on the game coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is officially announced to be coming to the Switch on December 7. 2023. The title of the game is Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition. The preorder for it has also been released on YouTube. The news comes after the game was announced to be released in 2021 but was delayed.

Fans had lost all hope that the game would be making its way to the switch. However, a Twitter user by the name of Pyoro had teased that the release was incoming.

This was done shortly before the official announcement.

Outer Wilds Will Come to Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2023, per Official Announcement

Outer Wilds was first released in 2019.

The official announcement for the game was made recently. Outer Wilds is the Winner of Best Game at the 2020 BAFTA Games Awards. It was also named Game of the Year 2019 by Giant Bomb, Polygon, Eurogamer, and The Guardian.

The game was teased for several years before being officially announced as Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition.

The release will include the base game as well as the DLC titled Echoes of the Eye. The pre-orders for the game began on November 14, 2023, on the Nintendo eShop. One can also purchase the base game only from the store. The game was initially launched for PC and Xbox One only in 2019.

But plans to distribute the release for Outer Wilds were revealed when it was announced for the Switch and was scheduled for Summer 2021.

The word of mouth regarding the game, along with the critical acclaim made it one of the most loved games of 2019. The game was announced at Nintendo’s recent Indie World Showcase. Although, it wasn’t the only title announced at the showcase. as Nintendo officially revealed more than a dozen upcoming titles for the Switch.

Pyoro’s Leak Had Predicted Outer Wilds’ Switch Release Before the Official Announcement

Outer Wilds is a game that focuses on space exploration.

Twitter User Pyoro (@Pyoro_X), the user who leaked the info regarding Mario Wonder and other games before the official announcement had made the claim. If the leak turns out to be true, another amazing game would be scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch.

In a cryptic post made by Pyoro said this:

Finally we will be able to roast some marshmallows on the switch.

The tweet was cryptic and left Pyoro’s followers wondering about the game which he teased. But there were some hints given along with the post. When a fan asked for a clue, this was Pyoro’s response. It still wasn’t definite if the game was indeed Outer Wilds, or something else.

It is now confirmed that Pyoro was talking about Outer Wild’s Switch port which was announced back in Feb 2021. The port has since then, been delayed twice. At the time of writing this article, the game has been officially announced to come for the Switch on December 7.

Pyoro has also leaked information regarding other games before they have been officially introduced. This includes games like Super Mario RPG Remake, Mario Wonder, Mario vs Donkey Kong, and F-Zero 99. This means that he has been a credible source of information when it comes to Switch titles in the past as well.

Leaks have become a widespread phenomenon in the gaming world now and sometimes even entire games like the Super Mario RPG leak online.
