Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala disclosed that her father would not be impressed about her wild celebrations after scoring against Australia.
The Barcelona Femini striker came off the bench to score what was eventually the decisive goal as the Super Falcons won the tie 3-2.
Australia’s Emily van Egmond had opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time before Uchenna Kanu equalised with about the last kick of the opening exchanges.

Nigeria went ahead in the 65th minute courtesy of an Osinachi Ohale strike before Oshoala extended the lead in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1.

The Matildas pulled one back in the closing minutes, but that strike came too little late as the Super Falcons claimed a famous 3-2 victory.
However, Oshoala’s goal has continued to generate reactions after the striker pulled off her shirt while celebrating her goal.
She has, however, stated that her dad would not be proud of such a wild celebration. She wrote:
“My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration, but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS. #Alhamdulilah #Grateful #Moments.”
Is Asisat Oshoala a Muslim?
Born into a Muslim family in the Ikorodu suburb of Lagos State, Oshoala initially embarked on her football journey in Mushin, a decision that defied her parents’ wishes.
Nevertheless, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of a football career, Goalballlive reports.
